Two Releases Approved For Distribution

 In The Shade Of The Old Apple Tree, mentioned in my last post, was approved for distribution today and will appear in the stores on September 1.

Also approved for distribution is my English-language version of Jungfrun Under Lind (The Maiden Under The Linden Tree).  In addition to the title change for the store listings, this release will now be available on many more streaming platforms as it is no longer classed as a "cover song."  It should go live in the next couple of days.

Both recordings are in the Well-Temperament tuning system designed by Thomas Young in 1799.

In The Shade Of The Old Apple Tree

 I just finished my release of In The Shade Of The Old Apple Tree and uploaded it to my distributor.  It's scheduled for release on September 1st if all goes well.

This recording is in Well Temperament, the tuning system used in the 19th and early 20th Centuries

prior to 1917.  I think that using this type of tuning allows modern listeners to hear these old songs as closely as possible to how audiences heard them when they were first performed.

What's New This Week

 To catch up with what's going on, last Friday (August 11) saw the release of my cover of "My Melancholy Baby."  My next release, also a cover, is "Avalon."  This song was written and first recorded in 1920.  My version was uploaded to my distributor on August 3 and is scheduled for release on August 25.  The time gap allows for the distributor's approval and for pitching the release to various playlists.

"On A Snowy Winter Night"

Hello, everyone.

My latest song, "On A Snowy Winter Night," is now appearing in the various online stores.  I wrote the song in November of last year, recorded the vocal just before Christmas, finished mixing the tracks between Christmas and New Year's, and got it sent to my distributor just after the first of this year.  I went back and forth listening to the backing track in both equal temperament and well temperament, and decided to go with the latter as it just sounded cleaner, at least to me.
